Tetbury Welcomes New Mayor Councillor Ann Pearce and Deputy Mayor Councillor Rob McCorkell

At last nights Annual Meeting of the Council the following two Councillors were elected as Mayor & Deputy Mayor for the coming year: Ann Pearce as Mayor and Rob McCorkell as Deputy Mayor.

Ann said: I am both delighted and humbled to have been elected to serve as Mayor of Tetbury, especially in the Town Councils first ever Annual Meeting to be held Virtually with members of the public included!

I would like to thank all my fellow councillors for their support and I hope we can continue to work together and hope that as we continue in these unprecedented and uncertain times you can feel assured that the Town Council continues to function, and do its best for this lovely town we all get to call home.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Cllr Rob McCorkell on being re-elected as Deputy Mayor and also to thank Cllr Nikki Ind for her service representing the town and council over the past year as Mayor.

Rob said: I would like to thank Nikki Ind for her tireless efforts as Mayor over the last 12 months, it has been an honour and a privilege to serve as your Deputy.  I would also like to congratulate Ann Pearce on her election as Tetburys Mayor, I look forward to working with you in what I am sure will be a challenging yet highly rewarding council year.

It is personally very humbling to have been re-elected to the position of Deputy Mayor and I must thank my fellow councillors for your continued trust and faith in me.  I firmly believe that Tetbury Town Council is currently a united and proactive force,on behalf of the people of Tetbury, within the wider community of the Cotswolds & Gloucestershire and I look forward to facing together whatever challenges the coming year may bring.
