In my June report I expressed my hope that we could address social isolation and promote health and well-being in our town and this month has brought us an additional challenge with the closure of our town Leisure Centre. Having said that, I am confident that the Town Council, along with Clubs, Groups and the District Council, will use this as an opportunity to review leisure facilities and availability in the town, along with the services our residents would like to see provided.
Tetbury has been busy over the last month, I have visited St Mary’s Primary School to understand the challenges they face in educating our young children, I have judged the Visitor Information Centre Tetbury Calendar Photograph Competition, served Burgers at the Feoffees and Thirteen BBQ, met with the organisers of Tetbury Minimal Plastic to discuss future plans for our town, I watched a match played by the Tetbury Cricket Club under 13 girls and finally I attended both Tetfest and Soundhound. I would like to thank all organising committees for events arranged in the last month, the town are lucky to have people willing to give their time to ensure we have things happening in our town. I am looking forward to the next month, particularly Tetbury Summer Show, including the Flower Show and Parade, which I will be taking part in.
With best wishes
Cllr Nikki Ind
