Good Afternoon to you all, I hope that you are all staying safe in your households and firstly, I would like to reiterate the Government advice to us all –
Stay Home – Protect the NHS – Save Lives
This is an update regarding how Tetbury Town Council continues to operate, within Government guidelines, during this challenging time.
As part of the regular review of council operations a recent upgrade was performed to the Town Council IT systems. This was done to save the council money by exploiting a more agile cloud-based system, whilst maintaining our compliance with GDPR and the guidance from the Information Commissioners Office.
An unexpected benefit of this has been that the council’s office staff are now able to work from home during the current COVID 19 situation and the elected members of the council have been able to hold virtual meetings using telephone and video conferencing.
Along with the grounds team keeping up as many of their normal duties as can safely be maintained, whilst following PHE guidance, this means that that Town Council continues to strive to provide our community with as much support as we can at this difficult time.
In addition, Councillor Martin Lea has been appointed as the Town Council Lead during the current COVID-19 crisis. Martin will be your main point of contact for the Town Council and he will report updates to our members, you can email Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 01666 505794
There are a number of community led initiatives and we are actively engaged in supporting all of them, but if there is anything we can help our town with, please give us a call, the phones are still manned remotely during office hours, or drop us an email and we will get back to you.
Life goes on and we intend to strive to provide the best service we can to our community throughout and official advice and support can be found at the following websites:
