I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the individuals, businesses, schools, groups, families and the entire Tetbury Town Council team and not forgetting Santa for their support of our town’s Christmas Light Switch-On Event.
From the spectacular lantern parade, winding its way behind the Fire Engine along Church Street to The Market House, live music from Josh Kumra and the elves – Ding and Dong and the Princesses entertaining the crowd; to the actual switch on, where Isla and Archie lit up Tetbury’s centrepiece – The Market House and Christmas Trees, kindly donated the Lowsley-Williams family and decorated by the Feoffee and Thirteen.
It was wonderful to see so many of you out enjoying the evening, visiting the stalls, local shops, children’s crafts and Santa’s Grotto.
None of this could have happened without a small committee of volunteers, Darby Law, Emily Forster, The Greyhound Team – Maxine Pride & Neil McDonald, Stephen Hirst, Sandra Ball, Kevin Painter, Peter Coleman and Tetbury Army Cadets. Also, Councillors Rodney Smith, Rob McCorkell, Gary O’Connor, Ann Pearce and Zowie Baker, Tetbury Lions – particularly Ken & Terri White, Ali Bristow, Shelley Bacon, Peter Hodgson, Tetbury Fire Service and all those who helped on the day – Thank you.
If you would like to get involved next year, we plan to start preparations in January, so please let me know, via the Town Council Office.
I would also like to thank Tara and Georgina for organising the wonderful Christmas Tree Festival in St Saviours Church and the Community Carol Service, which saw the Church full, with Carols and Readings, followed by Mulled Wine and Mince Pies – such a lovely start to the Festive Season.
We are all truly blessed to live in such an amazing Town and Community – Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
