The Dolphins Hall Community Centre
The Dolphins Recreation Centre Trust (DRCT) is responsible for managing the existing Dolphins Hall and the recreation ground, gifted to the Town by public subscription after World War I. The Centre is home to football, rugby, cricket and bowls clubs, an extensive children’s play area, and a recently improved skateboard park. The Trust comprises a board of Trustees which represents the main users but also includes Town Council and town membership and is responsible for the upkeep of the facilities and management of the Trust’s finances.
A number of schemes are being considered for updating the present facilities, with major funding assigned from s106 agreements and the sale of the Youth Club has presented the Trust with an unprecedented opportunity to realise long held ambitions in updating the hall.
