Christmas Magical Mystery Night – Light Switch On

FRIDAY 7th December 2018 – 6pm Start

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6pm Parade Starts – A parade going up Long Street from the Police Museum to the Market House/Church Street featuring Nailsworth Silver Band, Father Christmas and his Elves, Children’s Torch Light Procession and more…

6:15pm – Light Switch On at the Market House with Tristan Gemmill who plays Robert Preston in Coronation Street and the Lowsley-Williams Family from Chavenage House who both have strong connections with the town.

After the Light Switch On you will be able to enjoy late night shopping around the town, market stalls in Church Street, Santa’s Grotto, food, drink, festive music and much more.

This year there is a brand new Switch-On Team and date.
The Big Switch-On 2018 is be orgainsed by the super team at Tetbury Town Council with the support of Tetbury Feoffees who do such a wonderful job of lighting up their iconic Market House and collecting and decorating the two beautiful Christmas Trees that are so kindly donated by the Lowsley-Williams Family and feature prominently on either side of the Market House steps.

Sujays Jerk Pan Kitchen – Caribbean Catering Company who specialise in catering for events, festivals and private functions.

Mr Roast Potato – A classic British favourite any time of the year. Christmas is when a Roast Potato tastes best with gravy, stuffing, pig ‘n’ blanket, turkey and cranberry – A Christmas dinner to take away

Stable Cottage Bakery – Hello! I’m Martha who makes the magic happen at Stable Cottage Bakery. From my cottage near Alveston, in South Gloucestershire. I deliver handcrafted cakes across South Gloucestershire and Bristol areas. be sure to come along to indulge in my Christmas inspired cakes and cupcakes whilst enjoying the festive fun!

Cake Aspirations – 25 flavours of handmade fudge in pick and mix as well as brownies and brownie bombs. We have 3 flavours of fudge that are award winners with the Top 50 Foods Great Taste Awards

Godsells Cheese – Artisan cheese makers making traditional cheeses by hand.

Scout & Sage Spirits Ltd We are a new micro-distillery based in Wiltshire producing our own distilled Gins. We will be offering our products to be bought and taken home. The products we are selling our Scout & Sage London Dry Gin, Sloe Gin, Scout & Sage Christmas Crackers that hold a miniature 50cl bottle of our Gin inside them. Mulled Gin by the cup for immediate consumption.

Hygge Barn – British made wool blankets and natural candles

Ewelina Kwiatkowska – Winter hats and handmade baskets

Tawny Barn Books – I have written a book called ‘A Journey Around Ireland in Limericks’ and another person drew the illustrations for the book. Every book sold on the evening £1 will go to charity.

Cotswold Baby Co – A new local business launched in October 2017 by local Tetbury and Cirencester new mums, with an adorable selection of baby and toddler wear for ages 0-4, with collections inspired by lift in the Cotswolds. We will be selling our funky Christmas leggings, socks and pyjamas, plus we will have lots of stocking fillers.

Social Spaces Project – Sir William Romney’s School Raising money to improve the outdoor areas and canteen for students and staff and to provide an accessible welfare garden for improving mental health

Tetbury Community Christmas Carol Service

SATURDAY 8th December 2018

St Saviours Church Community Annual Carol Service

For the second year in a row Tetbury Town Council will be hosting this amazing community event – with the success of last years service and the popularity of the free mulled wine and mince pies they will be doing it all again .

Rev. Poppy Hughes will conduct the service again which will be slightly longer than last years with more carols following requests from last years attendees .

All welcome and wrap up warm as it’s a closed church – there’s no heating system!

All donations received to go to the Churches Conservation Trust.

Tetbury Christmas Tree Festival and Memory Tree

3rd December 2018 to 4th January 2019

For the second year in a row Tetbury Town Council has hosted this fabulous festival – come and see a festive array of beautifully decorated trees supplied and decorated by local organisations, schools and clubs all in the beautiful setting of St Saviour’s Church.  You also have the opportunity to leave your memories of loved ones, friends and family, on our Christmas Memory Tree.

All donations received to go to the Churches Conservation Trust.
